The brilliant young minds at our F5 Hackathon 2022, Beyond Frontiers: The Future of Food, Function, Fashion & Fragrance held in collaboration with United Women Singapore, showed us that the future is bright! It was amazing to see the next generation come up with innovative solutions in each category to enable people to lead more sustainable and environmentally friendly lifestyles.
The winning team of our Food Category, Clutch Meats, hatched an idea of making mock chicken that tastes and feels like actual chicken using soybean waste as a base.
From the Function Category, the team Sustainable Together developed the idea of an app which connects users to sustainable products, restaurants and their own eco-friendly clothing line. The app would also educate users on sustainability and would have a donations platform for users to sponsor sustainable products for the less fortunate.
Lastly, from the Fashion Category, the team Totes Packaging came up with the idea of using Fast Fashion to create online clothes packaging.
Watching these secondary school girls present their innovative ideas reminded all of us why initiatives like this, which empower women and encourage entrepreneurial thinking are so important for a better future!
We are so glad that we were able to have a physical event this year to watch the girls present their business plans.
