I was honoured to be a part of the first of its kind 50 women in cybersecurity- upskilling initiative in Kuwait, by Mercedes Vázquez, ESK Holding, sponsored by the U.S. Embassy in Kuwait, U.S. Department of State.

This initiative by Mercedes Vazquez has the vision for innovation and the advancement of women as an imperative for a secure digital world. Joining forces of Kuwait’s private sector for the hackathon with contributions from: National Bank of Kuwait & K-NET, hosted at the American University of Kuwait (AUK).

Over 2 weekends, high calibre instructors from the US and KSA exposed us to a multi-layered certification. Culminating our learning into an intense several parts hackathon with the participation of the Kuwaiti private banking, telecommunications and digital payments sectors.

I am proud to announce that my team won the K-NET Challenge! And I am lucky to have met and worked with so many dynamic women, across all ages and stages of their career. I thank the organisers for making this an inclusive environment for learning.
